Communities

The interactive map and tables below given information on Alabama communities relative to the BMSA program. The term Completed refers to BMSA recipients who have completed service while the term In Service refers to BMSA recipients who are still fulfilling their service obligation. The term Practice refers to the current practice city of BMSA recipients who have complted service. A few practice communities are outside of Alabama, but of course service communities must be in Alabama. The US Census Bureau classifies a community by type as either a city, a town, or a place. The Census Bureau also recognizes 14 urbanized areas in Alabama. A community that falls into an urbanized area is considered urban, and is considered rural otherwise.
