Summary Information

Although 125 companies distributed opioid pills to pharmacies in Alabama during the period 2006–2012, about 91% of the pills came from just nine distributors:

  1. McKesson Corporation
  2. CVS
  3. Cardinal Health
  4. AmerisourceBergen Drug
  5. Walgreen Co
  6. Wal-Mart
  7. Harco
  8. Smith Drug Company
  9. Qualitest Pharmaceuticals

The same nine distributors account for about 92% of all of the transaction records.
